Earth Day Celebrations in ABQ!

National Earth Day is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Every year around the world, Earth Day organizers promote green campaigns to save the Earth. Right here in Albuquerque we are doing the same to help push the importance of protecting our earth for generations to come. ABQtodo has gathered a few things to do with your family this week.

Stories in the Sky – Bees and Honey | Balloon Museum | April 18

Earth Day celebration will feature stories and songs all about bees and honey. Two sessions to choose from and comes to you at no cost. FREE!

“What Nature Does With Colors and Sound” | Keshet Dance and Center for the Arts | April 18

This event will include a film screening of Look & See. A film about the changing landscapes and shifting values of rural America in the era of industrial agriculture. “Home” – Exhibition | Oasis Albuquerque | April 17-20

“Home” might mean the earth, a garden, the inner self, a house, a road, or the universe; it isn’t necessarily limited to a physical structure. Nine artists from the Mosaic New Mexico group explore the concept of “Home” with their new exhibit at Oasis. FREE!

Making Africa: 3rd Thursday | Albuquerque Museum | April 19

Earth Day Celebration – Molina Healthcare | Civic Plaza | April 22

This is the kick-off event for the Civic Plaza summer season and the first day of the new plaza fountain!

There will be live music from REVIVA and RED LIGHT CAMERAS, a variety of health & wellness exhibitors, environmentally conscious & Earth-friendly vendors, electronics recycling , blood drive, mammograms, kids activities, jumpers, food trucks, local microbrews, wine…and more!

New Mexico Computer Recyclers will provide a FREE and secure electronic recycling service. They will recycle anything with a plug (with the exception of televisions, microwaves, CRT monitors, empty toner cartridges and vacuums). This is a great opportunity for environmentally-friendly recycling of all old, unused electronics!

Molina Healthcare has donated some wonderful improvements for Civic Plaza including new plants! Volunteers will be helping with planting starting at 8am.
